NAVRONGO SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL WINS THE NATIONAL CYBERSECURITY CHALLENGE 2023 IN THE NORTHERN ZONE.





The 2023 National Cybersecurity Challenge was announced by the Cyber Security Authority (CSA) in an effort to raise student awareness of cybersecurity.

The competition, dubbed the "National cybersecurity challenge; empowering the next generation," includes 50 SHSs from each of the 16 regions of the nation.

The country was divided into four zones—northern, middle, eastern, and southern—and the winners of those zones will compete at the grand finale in October as part of the 2023 national cybersecurity awareness month, according to Afua Brown-Eyeson, acting director of child online protection at CSA, who spoke at a brief ceremony in Accra to launch the competition and name broadcast journalist Kafui Dey of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation as ambassador.

The Cybersecurity Act, (Act 1038), 2020, provisions relating to child online protection (COP), digital footprint, social engineering, and open-source intelligence, among other things, would be covered with the contestants, she added.

Last year, the CSA organized the nation's first senior high school cybersecurity competition with six (6) schools chosen from five areas, and the Presbyterian Boys Senior High School came out on top.

This year, the competition is on and we already have a winner of the northern zone.

On DAY-3 of the competition for the northern zone, five schools competed against each other for a place is the final in October. Gabanga  Girls senior high school, Navrongo Senior High school, Ghana Senior High school, Bulpe Senior High School and T.I Ahmadya Senior High School. After four rounds of competition, The light of the North ( NAVRONGO SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL) emerge the winner with a score lead of 5 points ahead of Ghana Senior High School. 

They will therefore, represent the northern zone of the grand finale in October. Congratulations to Navasco.
